  Guangdong Hongyuan Southern Tigers (广东宏远华南虎) is a basketball team in the South Division of the Chinese Basketball Association, based in Dongguan, Guangdong.

  The Guangdong Hongyuan Basketball Club was founded in 1992. Their 2.12-meter center, Yi Jianlian(易建联), is widely considered the successor to international sports star Yao Ming(姚明).

  The Guangdong Southern Tigers won the CBA championship in the 2003–2004 season, and are thus the defending champions.

  In the 2004–2005 season, they finished in second place in the South Division, defeated the Jilin Northeast Tigers in the quarter-finals and the Bayi Rockets in the semi-finals, and routed the Jiangsu Dragons in the finals 107-100 on April 21, 2005.
