Beijing Jinyu Ducks

　　Beijing Basketball Team, predecessor of the Ducks, was founded in 1956.

　　Beijing Jinyu DucksBeijing Jinyu Ducks (北京金隅鸭), commonly called Beijing Ducks, are a basketball team in the North Division of the Chinese Basketball Association, based in Beijing. They were formerly known as the Beijing Shougang (北京首钢); The name change was likely due to a change of corporate sponsorship. During at least part of the 2003–2004 season, it seems they were known as Beijing Wanfeng Aote (北京万丰奥特); Again, this seems to have had something to do with corporate sponsorship.

　　The Ducks' best position in the CBA league has been in second spot in 1995-1996, 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 seasons.

　　In the 2004–2005 season, the Beijing Ducks finished in second place in the North Division, but lost in the quarter-finals to the South Division's Bayi Rockets, ending up sixth in the league.
