　　JINCHENG, China – The Chinese became the only team to win two games in a row in the four nation women’s basketball tournament here, defeating world no. 8 Cuba.

　　China had a 5-0 advantage early in the game, but Cuba’s up-tempo game created much trouble for China in the first quarter and the Cubans enjoyed a 16-13 lead at the end of the first quarter.

　　China regained the lead in the second period thanks to outside shots by Miao Lijie and layups by Liu Dan. The Cuban players’ poor shooting in the third quarter did not help their team in catching up with team China. Conversely, China received 7 points from their center Chen Nan in the third period.

　　In the last quarter, both teams had trouble shooting the ball. The two teams combined scored only 9 points with one minutes to play. Although Cuba made two 3-point filed goals in the last seconds, it was two points short of stopping China from winning the game 60-58.
