Beijing makes it to the finals after defeating Guangdong 3-1

  Zhu Yanxi tipped in Stephon Marbury’s missed jump shot from the arc right before the buzzer, and the Beijing Ducks survived the Guangdong South China Tigers 107-105 in OT in Game 4 at the MasterCard Arena on March 3nd. Beijing eliminated Guangdong 3-1 and will play the finals against the Liaoning Flying Leopards on March 10th.

  Zhu had 13 points in the game. Marbury made 14 consecutive points of total 38 points, including a buzzer-beater 3-pointer to tie the game at 96 in regulation, before the missed last shot. Randolph Morris had 24 points and 15 rebounds.

  Yi Jianlian had 31 points and 24 rebounds, and Zhu Fangyu had 23 points for the NO.1 seed.

  Guangdong trailed most of time till Yi shot 2 points from free throw line in the early of the fourth quarter to give the Tigers first lead, 78-77, since the first quarter. Guangdong led 96-93 with 15.4 seconds to go and Marbury made a catch-and-turn-around 3-pointer to send it into overtime.

  Guangdong started the overtime with Yi’s two-hand dunk. Marbury responded with a 3-pointer and tied the game. The 39-year-old ex-NBA all-star was unstoppable and kept it a close game.

  Guangdong lost last all three match-ups with Beijing in the playoffs and the finals. Their record at the MasterCard Arena is 1-7.

  Beijing made the finals appearance 3 times in 4 years and they won in the previous 2 times.
