Hudson’s 41 helps Liaoning beat Beijing to even series 1-1

  Lester Hudson was good when it counted most.

  The American guard poured in 17 of his 41 points in the final quarter, helping the Liaoning Flying Leopards to a 108-94 victory over the Beijing Ducks in Game 2 of the CBA Finals and even the series 1-1.

  “We finally got a breath.” The Flying Leopards’ coach Guo Shiqiang said after the game.

  Hudson made seven 3-pointers and also grabbed 13 rebounds, dished 5 assists and made 5 steals before he fouled out. “He is capable and desperate for winning. We like him a lot and believe he is the true MVP. ”

  Guo Ailun had 0 points and 2 rebounds through three quarters and finished with 15 points in the last one along with Hudson. “We are not nervous as much as we were two days ago.” Guo said.

  He Tianjun had 18 points, and Deon Thompson had 12 points and 16 rebounds for the No. 2 seed.

  Randolph Morris had 27 points and 10 rebounds, which was accounted for Beijing was up by 2 in the third quarter. Beijing trailed most of time in the game and was outscored 38-22 in the final period.

  Stephon Marbury had 24 points behind poorly shooting 4 of 15 from the field, but got to the line for 18 free throws, making fifteen. Sun Yue had 17 points, including shooting 3 of 3 from beyond the arc.

  The battlefield will move to Beijing where the Ducks will host three consecutive games. “We’ll take one game at a time. We did not even talk loud before this one.” Guo said.

  Game 3 is Sunday night at MasterCard Arena.
