Beijing ties series with Liaoning in Game 4

  Stephon Marbury had 36 points and 7 assists, and the Beijing Ducks charged back later to beat the Liaoning Flying Leopards 111-110 at Game 4 of the CBA Finals and tied the series at 2-2 on Friday night at MasterCard Arena in the country’s capital.

  Liaoning had a chance to force the game into extra 5-minute period when Han Dejun (24 pts, 10 bounds) was fouled with 1.8 second remaining, but the Liaoning all-star center missed the second free throw.

  Beijing was down by 12 through three quarters and by as much as 14 points early in the fourth. Powered by Marbury and Wang Xiaohui (9 pts), who made 2 consecutive 3-pointers, the defending champions cut the lead and tied the game 108. Marbury, who had 16 points in the fourth quarter by then, was fouled by Han in the paint and made 2 free throws that gave Beijing an111-109 lead.

  “In a game like tonight, the less mistakes they make, the more likely they win.”Guo Shiqiang, coach of Liaoning said after the game, “We were pretty good most of time tonight, but in the fourth quarter, we lost our focus, especially on defense on week-side. ”

  “But our guys deserve credits and respect from everyone”.

  Lester Hudson who had 19 points in the last quarter, led Liaoning with 41 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists, and Guo Ailun had 16 points.

  Beijing will host their third consecutive and also the last home game on Thursday.
